Avid budgerigar lovers take great care and attention to their pets. Pets need bathing from time to time. But no one knows the exact answer to the question of the frequency of water procedures. Each parrot is distinguished by its individuality, therefore it requires a special attitude towards itself. On the one hand, parrots cannot demand to be bathed. On the other hand, to keep the plumage in good condition, it is necessary to bathe them from time to time.
It is necessary
A bath for bathing parrots
Instructions
Step 1
The traditional way of bathing is suitable for most budgerigars:
- pour warm water into the bird bath (the water temperature should be slightly above room temperature);
- the water in the bath must be clean, and after bathing, it immediately changes and completely pours out.
After bathing, try to remove the water in which your parrot bathed, because he will drink this dirty water. Place a bath with water for bathing no more than once a week. Hot and sunny summer days can be an exception.
Step 2
In order to interest a parrot who does not want to swim, throw his favorite toys into the water. You can also try to lure him in with your favorite sweets. The best place to bathe is the tub that hangs behind the cage, not the other way around. You can also use different containers for the bath. For example, an unused litter box, etc.
Step 3
Some parrots deliberately pretend that they do not like to swim. They love to do it, but they don't like the tank you offered your pet. Some parrots like to swim in a bowl lined with grass. Plantain, dandelion, or other similar herbs can be used as the green bottom.
Step 4
If it seemed to you that neither method is suitable for your feathered friend, then try the following option for luring him to swim: for sure, he will appreciate the raindrops that can be artificially obtained with the help of a spray bottle.
