Cats, like other animals, have periods of heat when they can become pregnant. Unlike, for example, dogs, cats do not have bleeding, therefore, it is possible to determine when a cat is in heat only by indirect signs.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a close look at the cat if it shows increased anxiety, cuddles towards the owner more than usual, has become obsessive, rubs against all objects - perhaps heat will soon begin or has already begun. At the same time, pay attention to the appetite, as in the first days of estrus it increases, then decreases or disappears altogether.
Step 2
Do not be alarmed if the cat begins to emit loud throat screams - they are the main inviting and exciting factor for cats. Please note that if your cat has a calm temperament, it can these days, on the contrary, lie sprawled and only occasionally "grunt", silently suffering and arousing the sympathy of the owners.
Step 3
Examine the genitals of the cat - on the days of estrus, they swell a little, the vulva becomes enlarged and moist. This period is also characterized by frequent urination.
Step 4
Stroke the cat on the back from neck to tail, and if you notice that the cat is getting into a characteristic pose - protruding her tail, raising her pelvis up and treading on the spot - do not hesitate, she is ready for mating, these are the most favorable days for a cat to conceive.
Step 5
If you have a cat nearby, watch his behavior, as he will be the first to feel the coming of the cat's heat. In the first days, she will not let him near her, she will start asking for a cat only for 2-3 days, but the very presence of a cat next to her will stimulate the release of sex hormones in the cat, which will increase the likelihood of pregnancy.
Step 6
See how your cat behaves in the presence of people. One of the signs of estrus can be called increased attention and molestation to males, for example, to the owner or guests. The cat can also roll on the floor, run around the apartment, scream as if it is suffering from unbearable pain.
