For dogs, play is a way of learning about the world, learning life skills and training. While still close to the mother, the puppies in the litter begin to play with each other. When you bring such a baby home, he will be ready to play as soon as he gets comfortable.
Instructions
Step 1
Buy some toys for your puppy. It makes no sense to buy him a new batch of toys every time when the old ones no longer arouse his interest. Just split everything in two and change them periodically. The dog will perceive them as new.
Step 2
Finding himself alone in a strange house, without his mother, brothers and sisters, the puppy will be bored. Therefore, games with the owner should replace games with peers. Draw his attention to the toy, let him sniff it - get to know him. Throw it on the floor, pretend that you want to catch up and take it for yourself. The puppy will be happy to join the game. Just make sure that the toy is small, then he will easily take it in his teeth.
Step 3
When playing with a puppy, imitate with your own hands the actions of other puppies, their fuss - turn the baby over on his back, shake him by the withers, pull one of the paws. Of course, try not to overdo it or hurt him. To give him confidence in yourself and in your strength, periodically give in to him. Let the puppy think that in an unequal fight with your hand, he came out the winner.
Step 4
Other family members, especially children, may play with the dog too. But you should always stop their attempts to turn the dog into a toy. This is fraught with overwork of the dog and a deterioration in its appetite. In addition, children do not always measure their strength and can hurt the puppy.
Step 5
Play is one of the methods of training young dogs, it is a way to establish friendly and trusting relationships between them and their owners. On the street, during a walk, constantly communicate and involve the dog in outdoor games - catch up with each other, throw a stick at her, at the same time practicing the retrieval.
Step 6
You can also run away from the puppy along with the object of interest. When he catches up with you, make him jump so that the puppy tries to grab the object with his teeth. It is better to take toys with you for a walk from home. Such a toy will serve as an excellent prize in the game of finding a hidden or "lost" object.
Step 7
In a game that simulates the struggle for an object, you will practice grasping skills with a dog, the ability to take away "prey" from an opponent. Hiding from your puppy will teach you how to find lost people. While playing catch-and-seek with your puppy, teach him the "Come to me" command.
