A horse is not a simple animal; it needs special care, care and attention. You will have to learn the basic rules of caring for this animal, if you have already decided to have it on your farm.
Instructions
Step 1
Washing a horse is as compulsory as feeding it. Therefore, immediately prepare for the fact that the animal will have to be regularly cleaned and washed. To wash it off? you will need to heat the water in the basin or, if there is a river nearby, then wash the horse in the heated river water. You should only choose a place where there are no algae, so that the horse does not get entangled in them, and the very bottom of the river should be dense so that the animal does not fall through. You can also wash your horse with a hose if you rode it in muddy weather.
Step 2
Shampooing is a very effective way of grooming a horse. Plus, it takes much less time and effort than cleaning. But still, you shouldn't abuse it, tk. Too frequent use of detergent can interfere with the natural oily content of the skin, cause itching and make the skin look dull. Only use shampoo if the horse is very dirty, the rest of the time, warm water is sufficient. Water with a temperature of 40 degrees is considered ideal for washing a horse.
Step 3
Use only special zoo shampoos or, in extreme cases, a mild baby shampoo. One soaping is quite enough, the second time is not necessary. It is imperative to wash and rinse the animal with warm water. In the cold season, cold water is strictly prohibited, because horses are prone to colds in the same way as humans.
Step 4
If it is cool outside, wash your horse in the same way as you do a quick cleaning, i.e. first in front, throwing back the blanket on the croup and hips, and then the back, moving the cape on the shoulders and neck. Try to do everything quickly, then wipe the horse and bandage his legs with pieces of old blankets. If you have a heated stall with good bedding, then you can leave the horse in it without rubbing, giving a sufficient amount of hay and water.
Step 5
If you covered the horse with a blanket for drying, then remove it when the animal's fur is still slightly damp, then there will be no stripes on its skin.
Step 6
The essentials for washing a horse are car sponges, large towels, plenty of warm water, blankets and bandages in cold weather, shampoo for heavy dirt, a squeegee and a hair dryer.
Step 7
While shampooing, sweep the squeegee in the direction of hair growth in long, smooth strokes. The edge of the palm will also be an excellent replacement for the scraper.
Step 8
An infrared heater will help to save blankets and warm the horse. In addition, it quickly heats up the room and is relatively cheap. Only you should leave the door or window of the stall a little ajar for the flow of fresh air.
Step 9
A lint-free car sponge is ideal for washing your horse. It is better to have two things at once: one is to lather the animal, and the other is to rinse. You will also need several buckets of clean warm water, and one container will be enough for soapy water.
