A well-groomed, neatly braided mane makes the horse look prettier. Mane maintenance is especially important when the horse is being prepared for a competition or some kind of public performance.

Step 1
Choose a hairstyle for your horse. There are many options: rosettes, nets, French braids, etc. Any of these horse hairstyles will look much neater if the mane is thinned out a little beforehand.
Step 2
When choosing a hairstyle, consider which competition the horse will participate in. If she has to show off in front of the public, she should prefer a not too reliable hairstyle, moreover, the mane can be fixed with elastic bands. If the horse is going to participate in long-term competitions, all-round events, hunting, etc., then you should prefer a hairstyle that lasts a long time. Typically, these hairstyles are secured with a needle and thread.
Step 3
Double braids are great for long competitions. Gently comb the horse's mane to one side and then wet it with a brush or sponge. Take hair ties and, dividing the mane into equal strands, fasten each strand with an elastic band. Start braiding in the strands that are closer to the back of the horse's head. Thread the needle with a long thread. Remove the elastic and braid the braid, weaving the thread into it.
Step 4
It is not necessary to braid too tightly, otherwise the horse will experience great discomfort during the competition, especially in those moments when he needs to stretch his neck. Braid the braid to the end and secure with an elastic band at the bottom. Then take the thread with a needle hanging from the braid and thread the needle through the base of the braid. Fold the braid in half with the elastic inward and sew a few stitches to secure it.
Step 5
To weave the rosettes, make double braids first and then fold each one in half. Secure the resulting rosette with stitches, and then remove any protruding hairs to make the hairstyle more neat. This type of hairstyle works well for horses with long manes.
Step 6
If your horse is just going to show off in public, braid the mane in French braids. Moisten each strand, braid a spikelet 2/3 of the length, and then secure with a beautiful elastic band.
