Any caring owner should know that in addition to feeding, walking and annual preventive vaccinations, his pet also requires additional care. The dog needs to be washed, combed and monitored for its eyes and ears. Ears should be examined and cleaned at least once a week. This practice will help you avoid many of the problems associated with inflammatory ear conditions in dogs.
It is necessary
- - gauze;
- - cleaning solution;
- - cotton balls.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a calm, quiet place, free from other animals and children.
Step 2
Position the dog so that its head is approximately level with your chest. Small and medium-sized dogs are recommended to be placed on the table. Secure your head with one hand. It is strictly forbidden to insert anything into the animal's ear canal without secure fixation.
Step 3
Gently wipe off the dirt that is on the surface of the auricle with gauze.
Step 4
Pull your ear up slightly and partially fill it with the cleaning solution. By pulling the ear, you allow the solution to flow down the ear canal. It is there that the focus of infection is located and exudate accumulates.
Step 5
Massage the base of the ear canal with light, gentle movements. Most dogs enjoy this procedure.
Step 6
Let your dog shake his head. Take a clean gauze and blot the fluid from the ear canal with it. Place a cotton ball in your ear, massage again and remove the ball with dirt particles.
Step 7
If necessary, instill the medication according to the instructions. It should be remembered that injecting a drug into a dirty ear is absolutely pointless and unacceptable.
