When traveling by train, it is sometimes necessary to take your pet with you. Some do not see life without a pet and are ready to carry it everywhere with them, while others take them with them because of vital necessity. But no matter what was the reason, the main thing is to know how to properly transport the animal on the train.

Step 1
Obtain a veterinary certificate for the animal. Go to a veterinary clinic. Check with your veterinarian about transporting your pet on the train. Animals must be vaccinated no earlier than 30 days before shipment and no later than 11 months.
Step 2
Get a container or leash for your pet. On trains, rules are prescribed according to which an animal up to 20 kg must be placed in a basket, box or cage, which can be easily placed at the place of carry-on baggage. Animals weighing more than 20 kg must travel with a leash and a muzzle. Try to tame the animal to a cage or muzzle some time before departure. The more calmly the animal perceives these objects, the easier the crossing will be. Place a mat on the bottom of the container, preferably one that the animal is accustomed to and that smells at home. Take your pet's favorite toy with you, it can help him get away from the situation. If you are traveling with a cat or small dog, take it in your arms during the trip.
Step 3
Pay for the “Passenger's Baggage” receipt for the animal. A pet weighing up to 20 kg is paid as baggage weighing 20 kg. Larger animals are charged based on their actual weight. It is easier to transport small animals, as they are equal to carry-on baggage and do not take up much space. It is better to transport large dogs in a non-working vestibule or in a separate compartment.
Step 4
Take plenty of water and light food with you. During the trip, the animal may be hot or it will experience severe stress, in connection with this, it will have an increased need for drinking. It is advisable not to feed the animal during the train ride, as movement can cause digestive upset in the pet and vomiting. If the journey lasts more than 12 hours, then prepare a light gruel for the animal. Take the animal to the station platform, where the train stops for a long time.
