In natural conditions, many parrots enjoy bathing in dew and rainwater with great pleasure. And our parrots need to be bathed. After all, this is necessary to maintain in order not only the plumage, but also all health in general. Remember that anything new is scary for a parrot. Therefore, they need to be taught to swim gradually.
Instructions
Step 1
The main rule: everything should happen voluntarily. You should never try to redeem a parrot by force. This can discourage anyone from approaching water or cause stress. Plus, you risk losing his trust. You should try to get the bird interested in some water. You can, for example, put his favorite toy, favorite delicacy in water or put a mirror, then the bird, looking at itself, will use it more often, but this is all individual. Offer her different options, but never try to redeem her forcibly. Sometimes they just don't feel like it. Therefore, offer the opportunity to swim again and again.
Step 2
You also need to decide what your parrot will swim in. For swimming, you can use hinged plexiglass baths or special baths, but often simple saucers. While swimming, the parrot can drink this water, so make sure that the water is suitable for drinking. Pour lukewarm water. When bathing, parrots spray water, so it is better to put the parrot's bath away from its food.
Step 3
While swimming, there should be no drafts in the apartment, watch the air temperature, the room should be warm. And if you leave the bath for a long time, then the water for the parrots should be changed regularly. There should be no more than 2 cm of water in the bath. Do not pour into deep containers, it may sink.
