Feeding a Rottweiler puppy requires a responsible approach, since the stomach of a small dog is sensitive, reacts strongly to the wrong food. Often, the owners of the baby from the first days of his appearance in the house try to give him more food so that he is healthy and well-fed. This leads to stomach problems and claims to the breeder that the dog is sick or has weak intestines. To prevent this from happening, follow certain feeding requirements for your little Rottweiler.
Instructions
Step 1
In the first days of the appearance of the puppy in the house, feed him according to a strict diet: give him a pre-cooked dish of rice porridge and lean beef five times a day. Boil a liter of water, toss in a cup of rice and simmer for forty minutes over low heat so that the cereal is well boiled. Add chunks of raw beef to the porridge. A healthy and hungry puppy will quickly eat his portion, but if he refuses food, it means that he does not want to eat or is capricious in food. In the latter case, you should not indulge him and offer other treats. Remove the bowl and offer again after an hour.
Step 2
Gradually, you can add other food to the diet - fish, vegetable soups, milk porridge, cottage cheese, kefir. Give your puppy vitamin and mineral supplements for good growth and development. Be careful when introducing new foods to your dog's menu and act gradually. If you notice the slightest bowel upset, put him on the rice diet described above until he fully recovers.
Step 3
Keep food fresh, not cold or hot. If the Rottweiler puppy leaves some of the food in the bowl, decrease its portion; if it licks the bowl for a long time, increase it. Follow a strict feeding schedule for your dog.
Step 4
From the age of eight weeks, a small Rottweiler can be switched to nutrition with balanced dry food, which contains all the necessary vitamins, trace elements and other substances. From this time on, feed the puppy less often - three times a day. At the age of one, you can switch to two meals a day.
Step 5
Under no circumstances should you give your puppy bones, pork, sausages, sausages, peas, raw fish, fresh bread, turnips. If a dog eats properly, it can be seen in its appearance - it is playful, active, full of enthusiasm, coat, skin and teeth are in good condition.
