Cat claws were conceived by nature as a means of hunting and protecting an animal from external enemies, but when a pet lives in an ordinary apartment, they can cause a lot of trouble for the owners. In order not to have to worry about the puffs left on the curtains, or the tattered furniture, it is easier to regularly cut the claws of the cat.
It is necessary
- - claws;
- - file.
Instructions
Step 1
Until the owner has sufficient experience of such actions, it is best to carry out the procedure together. One person will reliably hold the animal, preventing the cat from escaping or biting the second owner, who will trim the claws.
Step 2
After the position of the cat is securely fixed, take his paw in your hand and lightly press on the base of the pad, from the base of which the claw grows. From this action, the pet will release its claws forward.
Step 3
Take the special clippers available from pet supply stores and carefully cut the sharpest part of the claw to a length of 1 to 2 mm. Only that part of the claw that is transparent and does not have dark veins of blood vessels inside is trimmed.
Step 4
File the cut with a nail file to make the claw smooth.
