Step 1
Be sure to buy a tray at the same time as purchasing a kitten. Place in a suitable place so that the kitten can always get to the litter box without any problems. Don't forget to add filler. Introduce your furry friend to the tray: put it in it, let it sniff, get used to it. Show the kitten how to dig with a paw, and then sit down. It is possible that instinct will prevail right away. And the kid recognizes the litter box as a toilet.
Step 2
Observe the kitten in the first hours of its appearance in your house. If he starts restlessly running around the apartment, its corners, pick him up and take him to the tray. Pat, soothe, and tenderly inform that this is now his personal toilet.
Step 3
If the kitten fails to use the litter box on the first try, be patient and continue to monitor the tailed pet. Make sure to put him in the tray after eating and after sleeping. Do this several times: the kitten will develop a conditioned reflex, he will understand where to run after a hearty dinner.
Step 4
Did the kitten choose a secluded corner for his business, not a tray? Do not scold him or poke your face at the crime scene. Take a scoop, use it to transfer the cat's "creation" to the tray. And send the eared master of "creation" there too. If there is a puddle in the wrong place, tear the papers, wet the pieces and put them in the filler. The kitten should associate the litter box with the toilet and smell accordingly. And wash the wrong place thoroughly, sprinkle with sharp cologne, ammonia, turpentine. Then the kitten will not look there again.
Step 5
Be sure to praise your furry friend if he went to the tray, gently stroke. Misfires will still happen, so keep reminding the kitten about the litter box. And in a few days victory will come: he will remember his toilet.
