"Place" - the dog's own space, its territory, where it can rest and sleep, feeling safe. The first thing you should teach a little puppy, bringing it into your house, is to respond to the nickname and the command "place". There are usually no problems with a nickname - puppies quickly get used to their name. But getting used to the place will take a little patience.
Instructions
Step 1
It will be better if you do not use old rags and rugs to arrange a place, but purchase a special bed for the dog. You can sew a thick mattress yourself with a removable cover (for washing). Buy a bunk bed based on your dog's future size. After all, the puppy will grow up very soon and will no longer fit in its small rookery.
Step 2
Attach a dog bed in such a corner of the hallway or room, wherever it is in the aisle or in a draft - it will be uncomfortable for you, and the puppy will be uncomfortable. As soon as you notice that the puppy is starting to rest somewhere in the room on the carpet or in the kitchen under the table, immediately pick him up and take him to his new bed. Say the command: "Place!" In a calm, even tone. Then place your pet on the bed.
Step 3
Pet the puppy and repeat the command. If he tries to get up and leave, you will have to hold him and try to calm him down. When the puppy settles down again, pet him and praise him.
Step 4
If he tries to escape again, you need to treat him with some delicacy, while holding him in place and repeating the command in a calm tone. If you left and the puppy remained in its place, this time the lesson is over. If he again tries to escape and settle down to rest under the chair, catch him and put him back in place.
Step 5
It must be remembered that you need to repeat the exercise and send the puppy to the place when he is full, walked and played enough. This will make it much easier for you to achieve the desired result. When the puppy bothers you, you should also send him to the place. It is important that the dog gets used to rest and sleep in its place, and not on your bed or in an armchair.
