Cats are adorable pets. It can be interesting to watch them, play with them, stroke their soft body. Often, the owners perceive them as wonderful soft toys. But cats are wise animals, they have studied people very well and have long learned to manipulate them. And, of course, each cat has its own opinion about the owner.
Man is a mother cat
Renowned anthropozoologist John Bradshaw, who has studied cats for 30 years, is convinced that although cats are accustomed to living next to humans, they have remained wild. Despite this, the cat perceives a person as his mother-cat. Therefore, the kitten seeks to snuggle up to the owner or mistress, he can jump to his knees, meows plaintively when he wants to get food, a toy or other life benefits.
When a cat grows up, he continues to consider himself the baby of the owner, and therefore still behaves like a child. He can ask for pens and just demand that he be given attention. Food on a platter is also taken for granted, but its absence causes confusion and even outrage. "What's the matter? Mom forgot about me? What is she thinking about now ?! " - the cat is indignant. Of course, he immediately begins to actively attract attention to himself.
The cat can caress, rub on the owner's feet, allow himself to be stroked, and then, at the first opportunity, rush into the kitchen, waiting for the owner to follow. If all the tricks of the cat are left unattended, he begins to meow loudly, expressing his indignation at the negligent owner.
Who is the true owner?
In general, people often surprise cats. First, it is striking that they have so little wool and, in order to keep warm, they have to wrap themselves in some kind of rags. It is surprising that for some reason people so often strive to plunge into a bath with this terrible water, which scares a cat so much - after all, you can drown in the same place! And it is completely incomprehensible why a person constantly walks on his hind legs - it's so uncomfortable!
Perhaps the strangest thing to a cat is the fact that a person considers himself to be his master. After all, it is quite obvious who the true owner of the house is. It is the person who opens the door for the cat, gets food for him, looks after him. And the cat, in return, only graciously allows himself to be loved.
Cats in literature
True, no matter how imperfect people are, many of them understand well how intelligent the cats living next to them are. No wonder so many cunning, smart and enterprising cats are found in the pages of world literature. Puss in Charles Perrault's boots helps his completely passive owner to get out of poverty and marry a princess (it is interesting that in one of the Russian dramatizations of a fairy tale, the princess prefers the Cat, because he is much smarter, more adventurous and prettier than the owner). Hoffman's cat Murr appears before the reader as a wise philosopher, condescendingly observing the life of people. The Cheshire Cat in the fairy tale by Lewis Carroll helps the lost Alice get out of the forest, constantly supports her, at the same time ironing over the days and over everyone around her, including the Queen. Well, Bulgakov's cat Begemot is just fireworks of wit and endless charm!
So it is worth taking a close look at your cat and, perhaps, learning from him worldly wisdom.
