From the very first days of birth, chinchillas are able to move and easily move from place to place. But, nevertheless, in order for small animals to have excellent health and grow strong, they need constant care. The main care for newborn chinchillas is to provide them with food, or rather nutritious and healthy milk. From birth, a small baby needs mother's milk, which contains only useful substances.
Step 2
If it so happens that the female mother has very little milk available, or it is completely absent, then the baby needs to be provided with an additional source of nutrition. There are various feeds designed specifically for such cases. For example, a widespread top dressing is Kitti milk - milk powder, which must be diluted in warm boiled water or in chamomile infusion. Or baby food "Agusha" is very popular, which is well absorbed by little chinchillas. Such food should be given to a small chinchilla carefully through a disposable syringe, because glass pipettes can simply bite and harm themselves.
Step 3
You need to feed small cubs very carefully and little by little, so that they do not choke. There is another feeding option: give the baby to the female who has milk to feed. Chinchillas need to eat every 3 hours. If the animals are fed with special feed so that there are no stomach problems, a couple of drops of espumisan should be added to the food.
Step 4
In addition to providing nutrition for babies, care is also needed for their wonderful fur. In order for the coat to be in excellent condition and to have a healthy appearance, chinchillas should be bathed in sand baths. The sand should only be volcanic rock. Sand baths help to improve the condition of the hairline: it is completely cleaned of the coat. Such baths are an excellent prophylaxis against various parasites. In addition, chinchillas love this procedure.
Step 5
Sand baths are recommended every three days. In no case should you bathe them in ordinary water, as they get completely wet, and this, accordingly, is very harmful to the external state of the coat.
