Bird scientists have long noticed that the larger the bird, the longer it lives. Conversely, the smaller the bird, the faster its metabolism, the shorter its life span. Usually even the smallest bird lives in nature for at least one and a half to two years. Therefore, talking about birds that live only one year is wrong. Such cases in nature are extremely rare, unnatural and not associated with any particular species of bird.
Another factor that affects life expectancy is the characteristics of the content. Usually birds that are kept in cages live much longer than their counterparts living in freedom. As a rule, this is due to the fact that in the wild birds are threatened by many dangers, diseases, hunger, weather disasters, etc. In captivity, all this is not, therefore, in "greenhouse" conditions, birds live much longer.

The hummingbird makes more than 90 flaps of its wings in one second, and its heart beats at a speed of up to 500 beats per minute. Not a single bird can last long in this mode. The hummingbird's body wears out quickly and reaches the limits of physiological age.
Birds that live only 2-3 months
There are birds whose lifespan is not affected by either metabolism or keeping in captivity. And they really live less than a year. These are broilers. In poultry farms, broiler chickens are slaughtered at 8 to 12 weeks of age. By this time, the weight of a broiler can reach two or more kilograms.
