They prefer to sleep on some kind of pad, the function of which can be performed either by a special cat mattress from a pet store, or by a large terry towel rolled up in several layers. If the cat is warm on the windowsill - for example, the window is on the sunny side of your house - then it will gladly rest there.
The cat can independently choose a comfortable chair or a box of linen for sleeping. If you would not like her to sleep in such a place, then you can buy a soft cup-shaped bed for her, which are available in assortment in stores selling goods for animals. In fact, cats really like to have their own place, which no one encroaches on, whether it be a sleeping place, a soft house or just a basket with a warm mattress at the bottom.
Often, cats like to sleep on the refrigerator - because there is warmth from a running engine; in addition to this, it offers an excellent overview. The domestic cat is still a predator and hunter by nature, and she likes to be able to control what is happening around her. If she has chosen to sleep on the top surface of the refrigerator, TV or washing machine, do not forbid her to do so.
