Everyone can teach a cat how to use the toilet without having to clean the litter box and inhale "cat smells". But keep in mind: this process is quite long and gradual. Therefore, patience and patience will be required from you.
Instructions
Step 1
If you decide to toilet train your cat, the animal must be at least six months old (small kittens simply cannot stay on the seat). In addition, the toilet door should not close firmly and the toilet lid should always be open. Get used to this in advance - otherwise all work will go down the drain.
Step 2
Your first task is to make sure that the tray is close to the toilet. If your cat is accustomed to doing his business in the toilet from the very beginning, no big problems are foreseen. But, if the tray is in the kitchen or bathroom, and the cat does not agree to a sudden change of place, you have to move it literally 10-15 centimeters towards the goal every day.
Step 3
After the tray is finally in the right place, start lifting it 1 to 2 centimeters above the floor every day. To do this, you can put newspapers or magazines under the tray (but remember - the structure must remain stable at the same time). If at some point you notice that the cat is uncomfortable jumping on this "tower" - temporarily stop the growth of the structure, let the animal get used to it.
Step 4
As the tray rises higher and higher above the ground, gradually reduce the amount of litter in it. If by the time the litter box reaches the height of the toilet bowl, the cat gets used to do without filler at all, it will be easier for her to adapt to new conditions.
Step 5
Make sure that your Murka jumps into the tray without stress, and does not experience difficulties doing his job at his best. Now remove the newspapers (it is advisable to throw them out of the house altogether) and place the tray directly on the toilet. The seat will have to be raised for this. Be sure to check the stability of the structure - the tray should not wobble, the cat will not like it.
Step 6
After your pet has unmistakably used the tray several times, remove it, while as far away as possible (so that the animal cannot find it by smell). Now the cat, already accustomed to relieve himself in this particular place, has only one thing to do - to use the toilet for its intended purpose!
