Training a small puppy to the toilet is one of the most important stages of a "dog" school. Training can be roughly divided into two stages. The first "home" is used as long as your puppy is vaccinated and not in contact with other dogs. The second is direct training of the dog to the street.
Instructions
Step 1
So, a puppy has appeared in your house. Immediately equip a place where he will go to the toilet. If you have a miniature breed, it is a good idea to use a cat litter box filled with pieces of paper. If you have a medium to large dog, you can lay oilcloth or plastic in the corner of the room and also cover it with paper. Some dog lovers use disposable diapers that are sold in pharmacies for "toilet" purposes.
Step 2
Small puppies go to the toilet very often. This usually happens immediately after sleeping and feeding. Observe the baby carefully: start to worry, spin, sniff at the floor? It's time to take your pet to the litter box. If the business is successful, praise the dog affectionately, treat it to a treat.
Step 3
You can try soaking a piece of paper in a puddle and putting it in the toilet. With the help of the smell, the dog will quickly understand where to relieve himself.
Step 4
If the puppy is "guilty" after all, do not rush to swear - he is still small and cannot immediately understand what they want from him. Moreover, do not scold the dog if a puddle or a pile was made a long time ago - the puppy simply will not understand why they are angry with him.
Step 5
If you "caught" the kid at the crime scene - yell at him and take him to the toilet. Then pat and praise. If you gently and patiently train the puppy to the litter box, the result will not be long in coming.
Step 6
After your pet has all the vaccinations, you can train your puppy to walk outside. Acquaintance with the world around you should start gradually. To begin with, take the baby out in your arms - let him look around and get used to the abundance of new sounds and smells. Then you can start releasing it to the ground. You can start toilet training after you have made sure that your puppy perceives the street without fear.
Step 7
Recall that little puppies go to the toilet very often, so at first you will have to take your pet out about five to six times a day. This is usually done at regular intervals after feeding or sleeping. If the kid has done his "business" on the street - praise him violently, be sure to give him a treat. Gradually, the puppy will understand what is required of him and learn to endure at home. The most important thing is to take the puppy out regularly, at the same time, if he is asked to go outside outside the "schedule" - be sure to go with him.
Step 8
When training for the street, it is better to leave the tray for the first time - after all, small puppies still do not know how to endure for a long time. The older the dog gets, the less often it will need to be taken outside. After six months, it will be enough three times, and closer to a year - two.
