One of the largest snakes on the planet - the anaconda - lives in the tropical thickets of South America. The most expressive representative of this species of reptiles, which has ever been found in nature, has a record length for snakes - 8 m 29 cm. At the same time, there are many dogs about 6-7 m long.
Anacondas usually settle near water bodies. Most of the day they hide under water, swimming and diving well. They can stay at the bottom for a long time, rest, curled up in a ball. They come ashore to hunt and soak up the warming sun.
The anaconda's menu is varied, including mainly small mammals, small birds and fish. Sometimes the predator makes terrifying forays on domestic animals, creating a real commotion in the household enclosures. It happens that a snake attacks larger animals, for example, pigs. Snake meat and fat are eaten. They say that baked anaconda meat is incredibly tasty and is a real delicacy with a sweetish taste.
Enemies in adult snake individuals practically do not exist, except for humans, and therefore the anaconda feels like a full-fledged mistress of dense tropical thickets.
