While your Labrador puppy is small, you can bathe him very often, but be sure to make sure he doesn't catch a cold. An adult dog should be washed with detergents no more than 2-3 times a year, as soap strongly degreases the coat and skin of a Labrador.

Instructions
Step 1
Draw warm water into a suitable sized tub or basin. The water temperature should be lukewarm, as hot water will cause discomfort in the dog. If the water is too cold, it will make your pet shiver. Be sure to lay a special rubber mat or thick cloth on the bottom of the bathtub or basin, this must be done so that the dog does not slip or fall. The water should reach the maximum of the Labrador's chest. It is best to gently cover your dog's ears with appropriately sized cotton balls before bathing.
Step 2
Place the dog in a tub or basin and spread the fur with your hands. Dampen the undercoat with water and apply shampoo to it. Spread it over the dog's coat with light massaging movements. Use only a special shampoo made specifically for this breed. Never use human detergents, they are not suitable for Labradors. Use shampoo for bathing for a specific color of the dog (black, chocolate or fawn) or suitable for all three colors. After washing, rinse off the shampoo from the pet's coat with plenty of warm water. If the shampoo is not rinsed well, it will dry out and look like dandruff.
Step 3
After bathing, wipe your Labrador Retriever dry and remove any remaining shampoo. First of all, clean the ear canals of the shampoo, as otherwise the dog will develop skin problems. After bathing, comb the dog's coat thoroughly with a special brush, so you will remove the hairs that have fallen out.
Step 4
To prevent colds and hypothermia, do not take your Labrador for a walk for several hours. If your dog's coat gets dirty very quickly during the cold season, use special dry shampoos to clean it. In the summer, you can simply douse the Labrador with a hose and dry it off with a towel.
