Step 1
It is necessary to trim the ears after bathing the dog. First, you should clean them with a cotton swab soaked in a solution of hydrogen peroxide. Instead, you can use a special earwash for animals, which is available at pet stores. Gently blot any moisture that has gotten into your ears while bathing and clean up any remaining ear discharge. Dry your ear with another dry stick.
Step 2
Remove excess hair from the ear canal. You can pluck them out with your fingers, or better with tweezers. Hair can be lightly sprinkled with special dog ear powder so it does not slip in your fingers and makes plucking easier.
Step 3
The hair on the inside of the ears is cut in the form of a triangle pointing downwards. From the outside - in the form of a diamond to maintain a beautiful feathering on the ears and reduce their weight for a correct set. It is more convenient for the dog to sit on the floor when cutting, rather than cutting it on the table, so that the puppy does not fall from a height.
Step 4
Take the tip of your ear and brush off the long hair so it doesn't get in the way. You can use hair clips to fix it. Squeeze the ear between your thumb and forefinger and use a sharp pair of scissors to trim the hair at the edge of the ear from the tip to 1/3 the length of the ear. The border between him and the coat is clearly visible in the light. Do not touch the feathers remaining below.
Step 5
Bend the dog's ear from the inside back by 1/3 and cut the edge - the border of the haircut along the fold with scissors with sharp tips. Repeat the operation on the other ear. Then cut the same border on the outside of the ear sheet, it should be in the shape of the Latin letter V, so that, together with the edge of the ear, form a diamond shape.
Step 6
Take a safety razor and start shaving off the fur from the tip of the ear in the direction of its growth, to the edge. You can pre-cut it slightly with scissors, and level it with a razor.
