But this is too early for the replenishment of the family, the body simply will not be able to bear puppies. Males often have an insufficient amount of seminal fluid at this time, and therefore conception is unlikely.
Poodles are long-lived, often reaching the age of 18 years, and on average they live about 10-15 years.
The bitch's heat passes within 21 days. During estrus, protect your dog from accidental mating, it is best to keep it on the leash for a walk. If you plan to start mating, choose the days when the mature eggs are ready, that is, 11-12 days of estrus, look for a partner for your dog in advance.
Features of knitting
It is worth noting that even small poodles have quite large offspring: 5-6 puppies at a time. Therefore, if the bitch has suffered a disease before mating or is not at all in good health, then it is worth postponing her pregnancy for a couple of months to recover.
Poodle breeds are believed to be free from hereditary diseases, so puppies are generally born healthy and energetic.
To obtain "high-quality" offspring, the owners select a pair of poodle according to color and height.
Breeding experts recommend mating during the third heat. But there are also age restrictions, that is, reaching such an age when knitting is no longer worth doing. The first mating of a bitch should be no later than 4-5 years old, and the last at 8-10 years old. After that, the dog's body is already aging and simply cannot withstand such loads.
