An animal bought in a store or found on the street differs from its counterparts in that they are afraid of people and everything connected with them. If you take a pet that was born at home, then everything is much easier with them. They have seen people and have already got used to them. The process of domestication of an animal, which is still adapting in human society, is a complicated thing. Particularly strong fear is experienced by those animals that were once offended by man. It takes a lot of effort and gain the trust of your pet.
Instructions
Step 1
If you see that the animal is afraid of you, do not pick it up. Start communicating with him at a distance, speak softly and kindly. This is necessary in order for the pet to understand that you will not harm him.
Step 2
Once the animal has adapted a little in your home, you can try to pick it up. Do not make sudden movements and try to avoid loud noises. First call the animal by name, then gently pick it up and stroke it. If, in response to your actions, a bite follows, then do not swear, perhaps the animal does not yet trust you. Trust must be earned.
Step 3
The first time you feed your pet tasty, it is advisable to give food out of hand. Usually, a pet chooses its owner according to several parameters: “who feeds” or “who loves”.
Step 4
Over time, the animal will get used to you. However, it takes a few days for someone to fully adapt to the new conditions, while others need years. If the pet continues to hide from everyone, with any actions against him to show aggression, then most likely he has such a character. You do not need to suppress it, because you will go against nature. Just accept the fact that your animal is a person who lives by its own rules and orders.
