The food of the dog depends not so much on its taste preferences as on the capabilities of the owners. You can give your pet ready-made industrial food, or, conversely, offer him exclusively natural, freshly prepared food. If you choose the second option, be sure to teach your dog to porridge - it can become the basis of a healthy diet.

Step 1
If your puppy is not accustomed to eating porridge and is suspicious of the new dish, teach him gradually. Clarify what exactly the breeders fed the dog. The first days, while the puppy gets used to the new home, follow the same feeding schedule. After that, add some freshly cooked porridge to his usual food. The next day, you can increase the portion of the new dish, and the next day - completely replace one feeding with porridge.
Step 2
For a pet to accept a new dish with enthusiasm, the porridge must be cooked correctly and be tasty - of course, from the point of view of the dog. You should not give the dog porridge cooked in milk - adult animals do not digest it well, and the puppies do not need milk anymore. The best option is cereals cooked in bone or meat broth.
Step 3
Choose the right type of cereal. Semolina is absolutely not suitable for a dog. Feed her with buckwheat, oatmeal, millet or barley, best of all crushed. Porridge can be cooked in the traditional way, or you can steam it by adding a portion of cereal to the hot broth and leaving it to swell for 15-20 minutes. This is the best way to prepare Hercules flakes, which dogs usually like very much.
Step 4
Do not add salt and spices to the porridge - animals do not need them. But you can pour a spoonful of sunflower oil into the prepared food, put pieces of low-fat boiled meat or fish, boiled offal, chopped hard egg and greens. Make the porridge thick enough for your dog to eat happily.
Step 5
Cool the freshly boiled porridge before feeding the dog, and warm up the porridge removed from the refrigerator. Pet food should be lukewarm. Watch your dog's reaction closely. If the dog starts to itch, his eyes turn red or other allergy symptoms are observed, discard the selected cereal and replace it with another one.
Step 6
If your pet refuses to eat, wait half an hour and remove the bowl. Offer her again the next feed. Perhaps the dog will take the food favorably. If he again ignores the porridge, add to it a product that the animal especially loves - for example, chicken or pieces of sausage. Try another cereal the next time you feed.
