Ferrets are interesting and cute animals. They have been domesticated for a long time and can become your kind and loyal companions. Caring for ferrets is different from caring for other pets. Feeding should also be special.
It is necessary
- -live food;
- -farshekasha;
- -vegetables and fruits;
- -vitamins;
- -dry food;
- -water.
Instructions
Step 1
Feed your ferret live food. These can be rats, mice, worms, birds, forage cockroaches, small fish. This food should only be purchased at pet stores. Or, even better, grow it yourself. Do not feed wild animals (fish, insects, birds) to your ferret. They carry many infections. It can kill the ferret.
Step 2
Put the ferret in the cage and put live food in the same cage. First, the animal will play with it, and then eat it. After that, thoroughly clean the cage from the remnants of the meal.
Step 3
If you can't feed a living creature to your ferret, feed it minced meat. Boil any porridge well. Add carefully chopped meat to it. Put the by-products there. It can be liver, heart, kidneys, etc. Add ground bones and a little skin to the minced meat. Those. the composition of this dish should at least approximately correspond to the whole animal.
Step 4
It is better to take lean meat and offal. Avoid using pork and lamb. These foods are hard on the stomachs of ferrets. Feed a couple of whole chicken heads once a week. Of course, it is better to do this in a cage. Heads can be replaced with chicken necks.
Step 5
Purchase ferret vitamins from your zoo pharmacy and give them to your pet regularly. Never use feed or vitamins for other animals. Give ferrets small amounts of fruit or vegetables once or twice a week.
Step 6
If you decide to feed your ferret dry food, then first stop using other types of food. It is not recommended to give dry food, live food and minced meat at the same time. In order to transfer the ferret to dry food without any problems, you need to introduce them into the diet in a certain way.
Step 7
On the first day, completely soften the food in milk. Add the same amount of raw chicken breast. And feed your ferret with this mixture. Reduce the amount of meat in your food every day. Then add less and less milk every day until the ferret has completely switched to dry food.
Step 8
Measure the weight of the food that the ferret can eat at one time. Give him the exact same amount the next time he feeds. If you give him more, he will start hiding food in various places. Ferrets should always have fresh water freely available. Change it twice a day.
