It is not as difficult to prepare short-haired cats for a show as long-haired ones. This also applies to representatives of the oriental breed. And if you properly care for the animal from its very birth, the efforts of the owner of the oriental during the preparation for the exhibition are completely reduced to a minimum.
Instructions
Step 1
If you feed the show oriental cat every day to the end, and put it on a diet a month before the show, the appearance of the pet will lose its attractiveness. The skin on the cat will sag and wrinkle, which is unacceptable for exhibition orientals.
Step 2
As a result of a sharp diet, an oriental cat may lose weight, while its muzzle will become more clearly defined, but the fat layer on the stomach will remain. It is even worse if the belly of the show oriental cat is retracted in such a way that the pipe-like shape of the animal's body required by the standard is disrupted. Therefore, put on an overweight oriental diet no later than 1, 5 months before the planned exhibition.
Step 3
Give the show oriental cat more cooked vegetables and bran, and reduce the amount and servings of the usual food. Try not to experiment with unfamiliar food before a responsible event.
Step 4
By feline show standards, the vertebrae and ribs in cats can only be palpated. But in orientals, when turning the whole body, they can be outlined.
Step 5
It is recommended to wash a pet before an exhibition only if its coat is heavily soiled. If you are an Oriental cat owner, pay special attention to the cleanliness of the outer surface of the tail, which contains the ducts of the sebaceous glands. If necessary, wash this part of the animal's body with a special shampoo for oriental cats of the appropriate color.
Step 6
Train your Oriental cat for change of scenery and exhibition events from a very young age, otherwise at every show she will be nervous, behave aggressively, hiss at others and bite.
