Not all dogs tolerate cold and dampness well. Some, especially the little ones, need clothing for walking in the fall and winter. In addition, owners of show long-haired dogs are very often worried about keeping their coat in order. Therefore, the dog's outfit is not at all a whim of the owner. You need to know approximately the distance from the base of the tail to the joint of the hind paw.
It is necessary
- Thick yet soft fabric
- Rubber
- Lightning
- Pattern paper
- Centimeter
- Ruler, pencil and square
Instructions
Step 1
Measure your pet. You need to know the length of the back, the girth of the neck, the girth of the front and hind legs at the widest part, the depth of the chest, and the distance from the throat to the chest. The back length is measured from the neck to the base of the tail. The depth of the chest is the distance between the front legs along the rib located between them. The neck circumference can be measured by the collar.
Step 2
Build a pattern. Start building it from the length of your back. A zipper or Velcro will be sewn along the back line.
The jumpsuit consists of a body and a wedge. Determine point A on the long side of the sheet and set aside the length of the back from it. Mark point B. From these points draw lines downward at an angle of 135 °. From point A, set aside a distance equal to half the length of the pant leg. From this point, lower a line parallel to the short section of the sheet and set half the length of the pant leg on it. From point B, set a segment equal to half the circumference of the neck.
Step 3
From the new point, set aside the depth of the chest. Place point A1 and from it draw a line downward parallel to the short side of the sheet. Set aside a segment equal to the length of the leg. Draw a perpendicular and lay the width of the pant leg on it. Do the same on the back leg. From the resulting points, set the perpendiculars up and set the length of the pant leg on them. Draw a line between the legs.
Step 4
Cut out a wedge. Its length is arbitrary, and its maximum width is equal to the depth of the dog's chest. Just in case, cut out a wide wedge so you can trim it later.
Step 5
Cut out the pattern and transfer it to the fabric. Cut out the piping for the neckline and folds. The width of the edging is 5-6 cm. It is better to cut it obliquely. Cut out the valves. From the length is equal to the length of the back, and the width is 3-5 cm. Double valves can be made. Remember to add 1 cm on each side for the seams.
Step 6
Sweep the seams - first the pant legs, then sweep the wedge to the belly of the jumpsuit. Try on and fit details. If everything is in order, grind the seams.
Step 7
Hem the pant leg and insert the elastic. Tape the neckline and insert the elastic as well. Sew the piping to the belly of the jumpsuit.
Step 8
Sew in the zipper. Sew on the flaps so that they completely cover the zipper. Overlock or buttonhole seams if necessary.
