The smell of cat urine is one of the most pungent and difficult to remove. Therefore, it is easier to prevent its occurrence than to eliminate it. But if the trouble has already occurred, you can remove the smell of cat urine with folk remedies, but you will have to make a little effort.
It is necessary
- - vinegar;
- - iodine;
- - detergent;
- - soda;
- - alcohol;
- - tea brewing;
- - lemon juice.
Instructions
Step 1
First, remove the puddle that appears on the carpet. Use various napkins for this, or just an unnecessary rag. Blot the urine until the stain is gone. Finally, place a napkin on the rug and wait for a while. If you saw late that your pet went to the toilet in the wrong place, then soak the stain with plain water. Then remove the liquid as described above.
Step 2
Potassium permanganate has a deodorant and bactericidal effect. Take a teaspoon of the drug for 3 liters of water. This method works well for dark carpets.
Step 3
It is also recommended to remove the smell with 9% vinegar. Dilute it in water (1: 3) and scrub the carpet thoroughly. After such treatment, ventilate the room.
Step 4
You can clean the carpet with an iodine solution. Take 15-20 drops of the drug in 1 liter of water. If the stain is fresh, you can remove it with substances that have bactericidal effects (for example, vodka, tea leaves, mouthwash).
Step 5
You can get rid of the smell of cat urine experimentally by combining several drugs. Take 100 ml of vinegar in 0.5 liters of warm water, mix and apply to the stain. Then saturate with tissues or paper towel. Sprinkle with baking soda. Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid soap or dish detergent with 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide. On an inconspicuous area, try to see if the carpet will stain. If not, brush vigorously on the stain. Rinse off with clean water and dry.
Step 6
After cleaning the carpet, sprinkle lemon juice on the treated area and drip a few drops of tea tree oil. Most likely, the cat will lose urge to urinate in this area (as well as near it).
