Often there are situations in our life when you need to go on a car trip, taking a cat with you. It can be a trip to the country, meeting with friends, visiting relatives. If the animal has not been accustomed to the car since childhood, the upcoming journey for him is a huge stress. To transport a cat in a car without any problems, its owner needs to do everything to make life easier for his pet during the trip.

Step 1
Before traveling by car, be sure to make sure that your cat is absolutely healthy, because in a stressful situation, the painful condition of the animal can only worsen.

Be sure to have your cat go to the toilet before riding. Just in case, put on a special animal diaper, which can be purchased at any pet store or veterinary pharmacy. Do not feed the animal too tightly before traveling.
Step 3
Make travel as comfortable as possible for your cat. If it is stuffy inside the car, open the windows or turn on the air conditioner so that the animal can breathe fresh air. Do not forget to bring clean drinking water for your cat on the road.

Do not play music too loud, sing or talk to other passengers in a car in high pitched tones in the presence of a cat.

Make sure that the animal does not distract the driver of the car from the road. Ideally, a cat should only be transported in a car in a special container or transport bag. If you have not acquired such a device, constantly monitor your pet's behavior throughout the trip.
Step 6
When traveling by road, try to talk to your cat more often in an affectionate, calm voice. Never scold or shout at her, otherwise you may frighten the animal even more. Allow the cat to snuggle against you, naturally, if you are not driving, nuzzle you.

Bring something on your trip that will remind your cat of home, such as a favorite toy. It is not a fact that the animal will play for her during the trip, but the native smell will surely have a pacifying effect on the pet.

If you're worried too much about how your cat will handle the car ride, give her a special pet sedative that you can choose from your veterinarian.
