Hamsters are very mobile animals. Besides, they are smart enough. Some people very quickly learn to open the cage door with their paw or get out of the aquarium. Finding a hamster in an apartment is not difficult if you take into account some of the behavioral features of this pet.
Instructions
Step 1
It is important to know that these rodents are nocturnal animals. And in the afternoon, after escaping from captivity, your animal will most likely hide somewhere in a secluded corner. But late in the evening or at night he will come out of hiding and start running around the apartment in search of food. Therefore, put water and food somewhere near the hamster's house in advance. The kid will definitely be interested in this treat. And the main thing for you is to seize the moment and catch the animal with a towel or a piece of cloth. Transfer it to a cage or aquarium immediately. Gently disentangle the hamster from the fabric so as not to damage the delicate legs and nose.
Step 2
If the hamster never came out of its hiding place, you will have to look for it yourself. This is not very easy, as these rodents are quite compact and can crawl into any crevice. And they love to hide in soft, warm, dark places. Therefore, it makes sense to look for a hamster in closets, on shelves with clothes, near a radiator, on a bed under a blanket. Hamsters are very nimble in climbing, and it is not only the lower tiers of furniture that need to be checked. They can even climb onto the table, clinging to a long tablecloth with their paws.
Step 3
It happens that hamsters hide so deftly that they cannot be found in the apartment. There is no reason to worry. Sooner or later you will catch the animal. And now the main thing is that he has access to food and water. Therefore, every time, before going to bed, leave a saucer of clean water, grain, fresh vegetables on the floor.
Step 4
Gradually, the hamster gets used to the owners, becomes tame, and stops hiding. But if you let the animal run around the apartment, it is better not to leave it unattended. He can chew on wallpaper, furniture, and even taste an electric wire. Therefore, it is better to keep your hamster at home in a spacious cage. And in the summer, you can take him out for a walk, so that he can run to his heart's content there.
