Instructions
Step 1
Before choosing a young parrot, you need to pay attention to the eyes. The young parrot's eyes are absolutely black, while the adult's are surrounded by a white ring.
Step 2
The young parrot has a rather short tail, which grows to normal length 2-2.5 months after birth. The plumage of young chicks is pale and dull in comparison with an adult bird. And the pattern running along the back, head and wings of young birds is clear. The older the parrot, the more the pattern is blurred.
Step 3
Also pay attention to the beak. Young chicks up to two months have a black smear on their beak. When growing up, the beak becomes straw-yellow; in some, the beak acquires a greenish tint. Budgerigar chicks cannot fly for up to a month.
