Parrots are one of the most famous and beloved feathered pets. You can admire the beauty and habits of these birds for hours. But their most important ability is memorizing human speech and imitating people. Lovebird parrots are no exception.
Instructions
Step 1
Keep in mind that lovebirds are inhabitants of the African continent. These are parrots with a shrill and loud enough voice. In nature, they settle in rocky crevices, live in pairs, do everything together, often creating their own bird family for life. Some species prefer to nest closer to people, under the roofs of houses. Therefore, in captivity, it is important to create comfortable conditions for life and development for them, especially if you intend to teach the lovebird to talk.
Step 2
Only a few breeds of parrots are considered the most capable of learning: cockatoo, macaw and wavy. Lovebirds, on the other hand, learn to talk hard, but they can memorize some words and expressions, a maximum of about 10-15 words under certain conditions of the content and abilities of the bird itself. It is completely unusual for them to repeat human speech. However, this is possible with your patience and perseverance. The most popular among bird lovers are orange-headed, pink-cheeked, masked, and black-winged lovebirds.
Step 3
If your pet is from a pair, then teaching him to talk will not work, no matter how hard you try. In addition, only tamed birds are capable of learning. The tame parrot is very sociable. He is sincerely glad to talk with his master, is distinguished by devotion and is very bored being alone. Over time, the bird becomes a full member of the family.
Step 4
Start teaching conversation to a male lovebird if he is less than 8 months old. Every day at the same time, conduct classes for at least 40-50 minutes 3-4 times. Be patient with repeating the same word over a long period of time. Unlike, for example, budgies, a lovebird will learn one word for a year, not 3-4 months.
Step 5
Pronounce the words clearly and correctly. It is preferable to start with simpler words containing the vowels "a" and "o". Be sure to reward your bird with a tasty treat. Move on to more difficult words and phrases only after your pet has a good understanding of the material covered.
