Rooster nutrition is no different from that of chickens. They need to be fed with food alone, except that the rooster can be given a little less mineral supplements, since he does not produce eggs. The diet of chickens is varied, they eat almost everything, so feeding the birds is not difficult.
It is necessary
- - grain crops;
- - mineral supplements;
- - salt;
- - greens.
Instructions
Step 1
Cereals can be considered the main type of food for chickens. Give it to the birds several times a day, 50 g per head. Since chickens are omnivorous, they will happily eat buckwheat, split peas, millet, wheat, corn, millet or barley.
Step 2
Feed your bird green grass in summer. If the rooster has free access to the street, then let him bite the juicy greens as much as he wants. But make sure that he does not go out into the garden, otherwise all your vegetable crops will be partially pecked. If the rooster is kept in a closed enclosure, give him 40-50 g of greens. But grass cannot replace grains and only serves as a source of vitamins.
Step 3
Feed the rooster with various flours: fish, meat and bone, and also give ground shells and chalk. But the bird needs not only mineral supplements, but also ordinary table salt. One head needs about 0.5 g of salt, which can be added to the main food.
Step 4
The stores sell special complex feed for poultry, they contain all the necessary substances, vitamins and mineral supplements. If you decide to feed your rooster with such food, then you do not need to add anything to it. If you have not only a rooster, but also chickens, you can treat them with shells or chalk several times a week, but not more often.
Step 5
Keep drinking bowls clean and flush them daily. On average, one chicken drinks about 200-300 ml of water. But drinkers must be of a closed type, otherwise the birds will begin to take water procedures with pleasure, splashing water.
Step 6
You can also feed the rooster any food waste that remains, such as bread and side dishes. Birds are very fond of eating something tasty. If you feed chickens with similar feeds and additives, they will lay all year round, and the eggs will be large and with thick shells.
