Fish pie is a very satisfying dish. It is good for a family dinner or a festive table. It is served hot and cold. There are many recipes for making fish pie.

Step 1
To make a fish pie, you need to knead the yeast dough. To do this, take a non-metallic dish and pour sugar there, add dry yeast and salt. Sift the flour with a fine sieve and mix into the mixture.
Step 2
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Take a small saucepan, pour milk into it and place it on the stove. Bring to a boil over low heat and add to the resulting egg mass, add vegetable oil there. Mix the mixture until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps in it. You can use a mixer or a whisk for these purposes.
Step 3
Now add the dry base for the dough to the liquid and knead. You should get a viscous mass so that it does not stick to your hands, you need to add flour. When the dough is elastic and soft, place it on a dry surface and cover with a towel on top. Leave to rise for 2-4 hours.
Step 4
Prepare the filling. To do this, take rice, boil it until half cooked and discard in a colander. Rinse under cold running water and set aside for a while.
Step 5
Peel the onions and cut them into small cubes with a sharp knife. Take fresh fish, gut it, remove the offal. You can only take fillets. It is better to use several types of fish. Cut it into pieces and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Then put in a skillet and sauté over low heat for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Take the dough and divide it in two. Roll one of them with a rolling pin and lightly grease with oil, put onions, bay leaves, rice and fish on top. Roll out the second part of the dough and use it to close the resulting filling. Make a notch in the middle and wrap the dough around the edges from the sides to the center, pinch the wrapped edges and the bottom layer of the dough.
Step 7
Let the cake stand for no more than 30 minutes, brush on top with the yolk of a chicken egg. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
Step 8
Remove the cake from the oven and leave under a covered towel for 15 minutes. Then serve!
