The Hyacinth Macaw is not only a very beautiful bird, but also the largest species of parrots in the world. The female and male have the same color, but the male is larger than the female. Young birds can be distinguished by the paler color of the beak. The shell at the eye of such a parrot is dark brown, almost black in color. There is an extensive golden strip at the base of the mandible.
Powerful bill (approximate pressure per 1 sq. Cm 15 kg) black color. It has a dry, fleshy tongue. The parrot has dark gray legs. The hyacinth macaw is either deep blue or purple in color. In length, such a parrot reaches a little more than a meter, a tail up to 60 cm, wings up to 40 cm, and can weigh almost one and a half kilograms.
It turns out that such a parrot seems to be an amazingly beautiful natural creature. The overall size does not at all affect the active behavior of the bird, but complements the external perfection. They are very agile.
Some have presented such parrots live up to 90 years. Hyacinth Macaws live in the outskirts of forests, forest plantations, in swampy places and in palm groves, sometimes they are found near rivers. These birds live in small flocks of up to 12 individuals, with the exception of the breeding period.
The diet of the Hyacinth Macaw consists of berries, fruits, unripe and ripe figs, palm nuts and even water snails. Sometimes gravel is swallowed. They eat food both on the ground and in the treetops.
