There are about 240 species of hamsters in the world (such as common hamster, gray, Siberian, Dzungarian and many others). The region of their habitat is very extensive, hamsters give preference to steppes, forest-steppes, but, moreover, they live in deserts and semi-deserts, and even in the mountains. Hamsters, due to their unpretentiousness, have become popular pets. When buying, it is important to be able to distinguish a female from a male, because if you do not expect to get offspring from an animal, then there is no point in acquiring a female.
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing you need to do for this - no matter how it sounds - is to carefully discern the genital and anus of the hamster. To do this, gently take the hamster in your hand and position it so that the lower half of the body and legs hang from the palm of your hand. Then, gently support your upper body and head with your thumb.
Step 2
It is unlikely that you will find signs of its "manhood" under the tail of the animal, it is difficult to see the genitals of hamsters with the naked eye (especially in babies).
Step 3
You can distinguish a boy hamster from a girl hamster only by the distance between the two holes - the anal and the genital.
Step 4
But in females, the vagina is located almost close to the anus, and the girls' skin in this place is naked, not overgrown with wool. Also, on closer inspection on the belly of a girl hamster, you will see two rows of nipples.
Step 5
It is almost impossible to determine the male by signs of spring. It is believed that females are more well-nourished and have a thick coat, but there is no guarantee that there is a female in front of you.
