Everyone chooses a dog to their liking. Someone's four-legged friend can easily fit in the owner's pocket, while someone literally walks a "pony" on a leash. And although mini-breeds have been at the height of fashion in the last decade, powerful and large dogs are still in demand.
Dog horse
This is the name of the English Mastiff, one of the oldest and most famous breeds. If fed well, then a cute puppy can gain weight up to 120 kg and grow at the withers up to 90 cm. Despite its impressive size, the mastiff looks elegant and fit in English, and his sad eyes and saggy cheeks will forever conquer the heart of the owner. These gorgeous and loyal companion dogs are very trainable and can be used as a watchdog.
St. Bernard
In the same line with the English mastiffs are the St. Bernards, who were originally bred as rescuers. A case was officially registered when a St. Bernard weighing 82 kg in 90 seconds moved a three-ton load by 4.5 m! According to the international classification, adults of this breed reach up to 80 cm at the withers and weigh over 80 kg.
Pyrenean mastiff
On the next step in the competition "The most powerful dogs in the world" are the Spanish and Pyrenean mastiffs, who perfectly protect the flocks of sheep from wolves at night, and graze them no less successfully during the day. It is the Pyrenean mastiffs that can be seen today as guards and bodyguards. Adult dogs reach 85 cm in height, and their weight ranges from 90-120 kg.
German dog
The Great Dane is slightly inferior in weight to the leaders, although in terms of height it has no equal. The breed standard is 75-100 cm high and weighs up to 90 kg. These large and strong dogs are touchingly affectionate, kind and obedient. Great Dane has a good-natured and calm character, but when playing together, you should always remember about their strength, because in the game, he can easily lay an adult on the ground.
Irish Wolfhound
The most powerful champion among hunting dogs is considered to be the Irish wolfhound, a brave dog with great endurance and power. Adult males grow up to 79 cm and weigh from 53 kg. With such a remarkable height and impressive appearance, the dogs are very muscular, but have an airy and rapid movement. Because of this, the breed needs a very heavy load and a lot of space. It is completely unsuitable for urban life, and its coat needs careful care.
Caucasian Shepherd Dog
Another representative of a very large breed descended from the high-altitude pastures of the ancient Caucasus - an independent and strong Caucasian Shepherd Dog, which has been serving people for three thousand years. These dogs clearly distinguish people into friends and foes and are suspicious of strangers. These reliable guards grow up to 70 cm and weigh 70 kg.
