Vaccination is necessary so that the body can resist such dangerous infectious diseases as: rabies, plague of carnivores, leptospirosis, etc. The vaccine is a dead or weakened strains of infectious agents that, when ingested, cause immunity to this disease.
Instructions
Step 1
Vaccines are single-component (against one disease) and complex (including strains of several diseases), domestic and foreign.
Step 2
The first vaccination is given to the puppy at the age of 6-8 weeks, followed by revaccination after 2-4 weeks. During this period, the dog should not walk on the street and contact with other animals.
Step 3
Adult dogs are vaccinated once a year, while all vaccination marks are entered in a special veterinary passport, which is introduced to the animal at the time of the first visit to the veterinarian.
Step 4
Ten days before vaccination, the dog must be given an anthelmintic. If fragments of helminths are found in the feces, then repeat deworming after ten days, then wait another ten days and inoculate.
Step 5
Vaccination is given only to healthy animals. If your puppy is weak or not feeling well, postpone the vaccination, otherwise it will be difficult for the body to cope with the infection.
Step 6
Before vaccination, be sure to measure the temperature of the dog - in an adult animal, it ranges from 37 to 39 degrees Celsius (in dogs of small breeds it can be up to 39, 5). For puppies, normal temperatures are up to 39.5 degrees Celsius.
Step 7
The formation of immunity after vaccination occurs within 10 days. During this period, it is also necessary to ensure that the puppy does not come into contact with his fellows.
Step 8
Remember to vaccinate bitches prior to mating. Also, without vaccination, you cannot participate in a dog show and transport your pet around the country and abroad.
Step 9
If you have any questions about vaccination, you should first discuss them with your veterinarian, who will tell you about all the stages, possible contraindications, and also advise the vaccine that is right for your pet.
