The diet of an adult sparrow is varied: in addition to insects, it feeds on food waste, flower buds and grains, berries and seeds, etc. People know a lot about their life. It is worth noting that sparrows do a lot of harm by eating berries, pecking at the buds of berry and fruit trees, destroying sunflower crops. At the moment, scientists have not fully decided what these birds bring more - benefit or harm.

Sparrows can be attributed to one of the most common species of birds, adapted to living in close proximity to humans. An important role is played by a high ability to learn, caution and other features of behavior.

There are two types of sparrows: field and house sparrows. Each of them has its own distinctive features. A large number of house sparrows prefer to nest behind wall cladding, behind window frames, under roofs, etc. They are comfortably located in birdhouses and hollows. The field sparrow makes nests in similar places. In this case, more preference remains for tree hollows.

Field sparrows most often live in rural areas, or in parks and squares. Brownies, on the contrary, are city birds. Moreover, they often intersect on the same territory, which does not bother them at all.

Sparrows are public birds. More than once it was possible to observe how they, as if on command, flock to one bush and begin to chirp in chorus. Singing like this is an essential element of their pre-nesting behavior. Thus, they attract as many birds as possible to a given site. Sparrow chirping can also mean synchronized mating behavior. After singing, the male begins courting: he lowers his wings, lifts his tail and jumps around the female, chirping.

Like other birds, sparrows are annoyed by various blood-sucking parasites: bloodsucking flies, ixodid and argas ticks, fleas, etc. During the breeding season, their infestation increases. The decline occurs in the month of August, when the sparrows spend the night in the crowns of trees and leave their nests.
