Despite the fact that conditioned reflexes can be developed quite easily in horses, training a horse is a difficult task that requires attention, patience and a good knowledge of the characteristics of the animal's behavior.
It is necessary
- - ammunition;
- - delicacy.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way to train a horse is three years of age. Those animals that spent a lot of time with people before training, learn faster and easier than their counterparts raised in the pasture.
Step 2
Do not demand too much from the animal, do not overestimate its mental abilities. Be consistent in your requirements: if yesterday you were punished for committing an action, you should not reward for the same act today.
Step 3
Do not be annoyed by stubbornness or misunderstanding of the command being spoken. Reschedule classes if you feel tired and angry.
Step 4
First, train your horse to saddle and bridle. This is best done by the person who cares for her. The more correctly and confidently you do this, the calmer the animal will be later. When training, behave carefully and carefully, because horses are very shy creatures with an excellent memory. On the first saddle, soothe the horse by stroking the neck and back. Give her a treat. Carry out the procedure with an assistant in a familiar environment for the animal (stall or stall).
Step 5
Saddle horses, remember that the girths in the early stages of the ride should not be tightened. Remove any excess straps and stirrups from the saddle. Gradually, as you get used to, fasten them back.
Step 6
If the horse has tension under the saddle, never sit on it. Run the animal in a circle until its tightness disappears.
Step 7
Teach your horse to obey the leg. The shankel is a light movement of the legs that tells the horse the pace of movement. There is no need to deviate from this rule and train the animal only with a whip or kick.
Step 8
Keep in mind that the horse is a herd animal, prone to figuring out its place in the hierarchy (which, like a dog, includes people). It is not uncommon for a horse to try to "take control" and begin to command the rider: he will be lucky where he wants to, he will bite if he is not given a treat. Be firm and avoid this behavior.
