If you want your dog to be always neat and elegant, you will have to work as a hairdresser. Wire-haired dogs (eg, Airedale, Giant Schnauzer, Fox Terrier, Irish Terrier, Schnauzer) must be trimmed or otherwise trimmed (pulling out dead hair) twice a year, in the fall and spring. If you take proper care of your dog's coat, you will never see shreds of fur at home.

Instructions

Step 1

Pluck a few hairs from your dog's back. If the coat gives in easily, you can start clipping. If the wool does not lend itself well to plucking, then wait a couple more days until it “ripens”. If your puppy is accustomed to combing since childhood, he will calmly endure the trimming procedure. If the puppy is nervous and aggressive, then 3-4 days before trimming, give him 1 tablet of valerian per day. Do not try to trim the entire dog at one time, it will greatly tire both you and the dog.

Step 2

Trimming should begin at the hindquarters and croup. Pinch the fur in the direction of growth between your thumb and forefinger. Then, evenly, with light movements of the brush, try to pull out. If the coat does not go well, then a tool should be used. Press firmly against the trimming blade and pull out sharply. Do not pull the coat - the dog will not like it, and the coat itself will not be removed.

Step 3

The hair on the face, head, inner side of the neck, under the arms, on the stomach and in the groin is more delicate and thin, so it is better to remove it with a machine. Pull the hair out of the ears with your fingers. The dog is plucked out almost bald. Therefore, if your pet lives in the yard, then trimming must be done no earlier than 2 months before the onset of cold weather, so that new wool has time to grow.
