Cats do not suffer from food poisoning that often, as they are quite picky about their food. And yet, you should know what to do if a cat is poisoned, especially since you can get poisoned not only with food, but also, for example, with poisons from rodents or medicines.
If your pet is poisoned, he has a weakness, he is in a depressed state, hiding in some dark corner, refuses water and food, he has diarrhea and vomiting, do not hesitate - take the poor fellow to the veterinary clinic. However, there are a number of things you can do to alleviate the animal's suffering. By the way, they may well be enough for a complete cure, if the poisoning was not too strong.
As a first aid in case of poisoning, you can use some veterinary drugs, such as "Veracol". In acute poisoning, this agent is administered subcutaneously in a volume of 1 ml. If it is not possible to go to the veterinary clinic, inject Veracol 3-4 times a day. If you cannot inject - then pour it from a syringe without a needle into the mouth. This should also be done 3-4 times a day, and the volume should be slightly larger than with subcutaneous administration - 1.5 ml.
If veterinary drugs are not available, activated charcoal will do. Dissolve half a tablet of charcoal in water and inject it from a syringe to the animal 2-3 times a day.
Polysorb, Smecta or Enterosgel can cope well with poisoning by absorbing harmful substances.
To reduce the strain on the liver, give your animal one of the veterinary medications that support liver function. The human analogue "Pancreatin" is also suitable (half a tablet 2 times a day for 7 days).

Veterinary pills should not be given to the animal if the animal is vomiting, as they can provoke vomiting.
