Of course, we love our four-legged friend not for his pedigree. But sometimes your pet's lack of a pedigree can become an obstacle to full participation in exhibitions, in breeding work. What should a dog owner remember if he expects to get a pedigree on it?
Instructions
Step 1
If you have a purebred dog or are going to purchase one, remember that every purebred puppy must have a so-called puppy card. You can see a sample of its design on the website of the Russian Cynological Federation. It is advisable to have a card of the established RKF sample.
Step 2
Regardless of whether the card matches the sample or slightly differs from it, it must belong to one of the federations included in the RKF. With such a puppy card, you should contact the federation.
Step 3
The RKF will explain to you how an ordinary pedigree is formed. To make a pedigree, you will have to pay from 150 to 300 rubles. The terms of preparation of the document will depend on the amount of payment. You must fill out the puppy card in advance by entering yourself as the owner of the dog. After the formalities are followed, you will be assigned a time to report for the pedigree. Be sure to keep the receipt of payment for the service.
Step 4
If you do not live in the capital, then the local club, of which you will become a member, will deal with the registration of the pedigree. Registration of a pedigree in the field tends to be more time consuming and more expensive.
Step 5
It is recommended to start drawing up the pedigree when the dog reaches the age of six months. Usually, by this time, all documents for the puppy's parents have already been received by the RKF. If you are sure that the documents are in the federation, then you can start the registration procedure earlier.
Step 6
Having received the desired pedigree, you and your pet can start taking part in exhibitions. You can also get information on them from the Russian Cynological Federation or from your local kennel club.
Step 7
If the puppy card was not attached to your puppy, but the dog is thoroughbred by all indications, then you can try to restore the card. To begin with, remember where you bought the puppy, contact the owners, try to remember the nicknames of your pet's parents.
Step 8
To participate in exhibitions, you can get by with the so-called register pedigree. To obtain it, the dog must be examined by official experts for this breed and an opinion on the belonging of your dog to the breed. With a positive conclusion, the pedigree can be drawn up, the details in your particular case will have to be clarified in the RKF.
