When leaving on vacation or a business trip, you need to decide with whom the pets will stay. If you take care of a cat or dog, animals can be accommodated in a special hotel. During your absence, your pets will be provided with proper nutrition, supervision, and, if necessary, even training or veterinary services.
Hotels: what they are
A few years ago, hotels for animals almost did not exist. Only overexposure at the clubs worked, mainly for dogs. Today, you can find options for any pets. You can overexpose your dog, cat, small animals such as ferrets or guinea pigs. Hotels open at veterinary clinics, clubs, training centers or as an independent business.
Hotels offer a standard set of services - provision of a room depending on the size of the animal, feeding according to the home regime, walking. For a fee, you can be provided with the services of a groomer, veterinarian or trainer. Some hotels have their own transport, on which the pet will be brought to the hotel and taken home. There are both mixed hotels that cater to all animals, and specialized ones that only accept cats or dogs of service breeds.
Accommodation conditions vary. In some hotels, animals are kept in cages and aviaries, in others they live in rooms divided into compartments. There are superior rooms, designed for particularly fastidious guests, or "combined" rooms for cats or dogs from the same family, who are more comfortable living together.
The cost of living depends on the category of the room and the list of services. In the "hot" season, prices may rise, and during the seasonal recession, discounts are possible. Sometimes hotels reduce prices for regular customers, early booking or keeping several animals from the same family in the same enclosure.
Right choice
Before you take your pet to the hotel, visit it yourself. Inspect the territory, talk to the employees. Take a look at the "numbers", estimate their size. Cages and enclosures should not be too tight. If your animal is not used to contact with other pets, choose a small hotel for it with a minimum of guests. Check how often cleaning and disinfection is done.
A good hotel will require a certificate of pet vaccinations - it is better to discuss this issue in advance. Owners of purebred dogs and cats should microchip their pet to avoid the possibility of substitution. If the animal has a chronic illness, discuss the issue of overexposure with the veterinarian and be sure to notify the hotel staff. By prior arrangement, the dog or cat will be given medications, injections, and dietary food.
When sending your pet for overexposure, provide it with a supply of food, a litter box, and some of your favorite things - toys, bedding or a house. Please note that in popular hotels, places need to be booked in advance - this is especially important during vacations, holidays, New Year and summer vacations.
