Having received some papers from the breeder along with a fluffy adorable puppy, the newly-made owners think little about their purpose. After all, the most important thing is the joy of communicating with the best friend in the world. However, a purebred dog can and should have its own documents. First of all, this is a veterinary passport and, of course, a document on the dog's origin - a pedigree. Moreover, the owners themselves need to get the pedigree. The best option is to obtain a RKF pedigree recognized by the World Cynological Organization (FCI).
It is necessary
A puppy for your dog
Instructions
Step 1
A veterinary passport for a puppy is issued in any veterinary clinic. For this, there is no need to provide any documents other than your passport. Indicate the name of the dog and its breed. The veterinarian will fill out the document and give you a veterinary passport with all the vaccinations made.
Step 2
For pedigree, look for the puppy you received from the breeder when you bought the puppy. A puppy is an official document of a dog, valid until the age of one and a half years. When the dog reaches this age, the puppy should be changed to a pedigree. If you do not have a puppy in your arms, contact your breeder with the requirement to issue this document to the puppy.
Step 3
If the breeder does not give you a puppy, check the puppy for a brand on the belly or on the inside of the ear. An officially registered dog must have a stamp affixed after birth. When registering a litter of his dog, the breeder is also obliged to submit to the RKF breeding commission a general litter card, which lists all born and branded puppies.
Step 4
Therefore, you can get a pedigree without a puppy, but in the presence of the most general litter card, indicating the origin of your puppy. To do this, come personally to the RKF to resolve this issue and present your dog's purchase and sale document. At the request of the dog handler, provide the dog itself for inspection by the breeding commission, so that there is no doubt that your puppy comes from this particular litter.
Step 5
Upon certification of all the data and the presence of a registered litter in the RKF database, your documents will be accepted for consideration. Pay the fee for registration of the dog's pedigree. After one month, the RKF will issue a pedigree for your puppy. Now the dog has the right to exhibit at exhibitions and produce offspring.
