First of all, about two days before giving birth, the cat loses its appetite, and milk begins to gradually emerge from its nipples. At the same time, the nipples increase in size - now they stick out, somewhat resembling a goat. As well as in women, at least a day before the onset of labor, the cat's belly "drops". The uterus of the cat presses on its bladder, and therefore the animal goes to the toilet more often. If you noticed all these signs in your pet, then in no case let her out of the house so that she does not have to give birth to kittens on the street. Plan your activities so that you or someone in the household is sure to be with the cat during childbirth.
Step 2
Approximately 5-6 hours before the onset of labor, the cat's behavior changes. She begins to get nervous and rush around the house in search of a secluded place where it would be convenient for her to be during childbirth. If the owner prepared a box for this process in advance, covered with clean towels, then the animal tramples down all the irregularities in it in the most careful way. Also, the cat diligently licks its genitals and turns upside down with its tummy, demonstrating how much it wants the owner to scratch its belly.
Step 3
Before labor begins, your cat will settle in a box prepared for lambing. The owner definitely needs to sit next to her, talk to the animal and calm him down. Soon, the cat will have contractions, which will get stronger and more frequent. The owner can even see how the animal is straining to push the kitten out of itself. Keep in mind that if half an hour after the start of strong constant contractions, the first kitten has not been born, then you should call your veterinarian.
