The problem arises not only because the temperature of the water becomes uncomfortable for the fish, but also because the oxygen content in the water decreases, simultaneously with the increase in the carbon dioxide content. There are several ways to cope with the summer heat.

Step 1
Buy an air conditioner for your apartment. This method will make life comfortable not only for the fish in the aquarium, but also for other inhabitants of the house. Among the disadvantages of this method, it is worth noting the high cost, drying of the air and the immobility of the device itself. If you have several aquariums located in different places in the apartment, you cannot install an air conditioner above each one.

Purchase a dedicated aquarium water refrigerator. It's called a chiller. Chillers are on sale recently. Their appearance is due to the fact that aquariums are increasingly equipped with new electrical devices, such as filters, lighting, pumps. These undoubtedly useful devices can heat up significantly and raise the temperature of the water. The main disadvantage of the chiller is its cost. The minimum price is $ 500.
Step 3
Cool the aquarium water with frozen water bottles. Pour water into a regular plastic bottle and put it in the refrigerator. Once the water is frozen, the bottle can be lowered directly into the aquarium.
Make sure that there are always full change bottles in the refrigerator, as they will have to be changed quite often.
Step 4
Try cooling the aquarium water with increased evaporation. For this you need a fan. Direct a strong jet of air at the surface of the water. The air flow must be strong enough to form a slight ripple on the water.
Cut two holes in the aquarium lid at different ends. They must be sized according to the size of the fans. Cover the holes with a fine mesh to prevent the fish from jumping out.
Mount the fans above the opening so that the air flow hits the water at an angle of 45 degrees. This will significantly speed up evaporation and lower the temperature in the aquarium.
