After the construction and finishing of the chicken coop, the walls are covered with lime and its complete equipment is produced so that it is convenient for the birds to feed, water and collect the laid eggs. For the equipment of the poultry house, some materials will be required, as well as adherence to simple rules.
It is necessary
- - timber or poles;
- - feeders;
- - drinkers;
- - boxes for laying eggs;
- - separate feeders for mineral feed and gravel;
- - a bath with river sand;
- - straw for nests.
Instructions
Step 1
Chicks begin to perch and sleep on them by about three months. Therefore, by this time it is necessary to equip them. Up to three months, chickens are seated at night in different cages for several heads, no more than ten to twelve, because they sleep in a bunch and can crush each other. At three months, all livestock can be kept in one pen, since most of the chicks will sleep on the perches.
Step 2
Perches can be made from 40x40 bars or poles. If bars are installed, all sharp edges must be planed and sanded. Perches should be placed at a height of 50 cm from the floor on the wall opposite from the windows. Each roost should be at a distance of 40 cm from the next. One head will require at least 30 cm space. Therefore, the number of perches should correspond to the number of bird heads.
Step 3
You need to install a feeder in the chicken coop. It is better to place the feeder on the floor, closer to the wall with windows. It should be partitioned off with thin sticks so that the chickens do not have the opportunity to tear the feed with their paws, which they love to do.
Step 4
For the drinker, you should use a special device for chickens with an automatic water supply. If a regular trough or basin is used, the floor near the drinkers will be constantly wet, as will the bird itself.
Step 5
Be sure to put a feeder with mineral feed and gravel. In the middle of the hen house, it is necessary to equip a platform with river sand so that the chickens have the opportunity to swim in it.
Step 6
Lay nests should be located in the darkest corner of the house 60 cm from the floor, but this is only for the laying breed. For broilers, nests are located in a dark corner at a height of 20-30 cm from the floor.
Step 7
If you plan to keep a hen on the farm, you need to make her a separate cage, put a separate feeder and drinker.
Step 8
For walking, a place is fenced off near the chicken coop itself. It is recommended to walk only laying hens. Early maturing broilers are fed without range for rapid weight gain.
