It is necessary to rinse the dog's stomach in case your pet is badly poisoned. If you need to carry out this procedure, be aware that the sooner after the poison enters the stomach, you start flushing, the more chances your pet has of a successful outcome.
It is necessary
- -consultation of a veterinarian;
- - a solution of potassium permanganate;
- -Activated carbon;
- - chamomile solution.
Instructions
Step 1
Signs of poisoning are vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, soreness in the gastrointestinal tract. If the dog has swallowed some kind of poison, then drooling, convulsions, disturbances in the work of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems are possible.
Step 2
Gastric lavage will be most effective if the poisoned food is in it for no more than an hour, since after this period most of the poison will be absorbed into the bloodstream, which can cause severe intoxication of the body.
Step 3
For gastric lavage, it is necessary to dilute a weak solution of potassium permanganate (it should be pale pink). Make sure that there are no crystals in the solution that can burn the gastrointestinal tract. The amount of solution depends on the size of the dog and can range from 250 ml to three liters.
Step 4
Carefully pour the potassium permanganate solution into the dog's mouth. Make sure that the animal has time to swallow the liquid. As a result, the dog should start vomiting, which will help empty the stomach of the remaining poison.
Step 5
If you don't have potassium permanganate at hand, then you can try to give the animal some tea.
Step 6
After that, it is necessary to give the dog activated charcoal dissolved in water (from 2 to 10 tablets), which adsorbs the remains of the poison.
Step 7
To relieve intoxication, it is necessary to give the dog as much liquid as possible, and in order to remove the poison from the intestines, you can make a cleansing enema with a solution of chamomile or the same weak solution of potassium permanganate.
