A sick pet dog, of course, should be treated by a veterinarian. For treatment, there are special antibiotics designed specifically for tetrapods, they are often called the same as the usual ones, but they have the postfix "VP" (veterinary drug): "Gentamicin-VP", "Amoxicillin VP", "Cephalexin VP" (active ingredient - cephalexin), as well as "Trimethoprim 2VP" (international name - "sulfametox"). The medicines listed are the most common. They are most often prescribed by veterinarians to combat dangerous canine diseases.
Step 2
"Gentamicin-VP" is used for open wounds and some infections, such as ear infections. This drug exists mainly in the form of an ointment, since the tablets have an extremely negative effect on the body, affecting the hearing and vision of the animal. For oral administration, appoint
1, 1 ml of "Gentamicin-VP" per 10 kg of animal weight. The tablet should be crushed and given to the dog with water every 12 hours. Between taking the drug, you need to stimulate the animal to drink more, offer not only water, but light broths, fermented milk products.
Step 3
"Amoxicillin VP" is used for skin diseases, gastrointestinal infections and urinary tract infections. This antibiotic is most often prescribed by a veterinarian because it is practically safe. But still, there are dogs that are allergic to this drug, so the first time you need to use it with caution. It is most convenient to crush the preparation and add it to the feed as a powder.
Step 4
"Cephalexin VP" is used in the treatment of respiratory infections, as well as bacterial infections in the bones. To prevent side effects from the drug, such as diarrhea and vomiting, you need to carefully monitor the dose. Give it dissolved in a small amount of water, you can pour the liquid into a bowl for water, or you can give the dog a drink from a spoon. To do this, fix the animal, squeeze the jaw with one hand so that with your thumbs you can move your upper lip. Pour the medicine into the interdental space and wait for the dog to swallow it. Be sure to compliment your pet. Give a small amount of savory treats.
Step 5
"Trimethoprim 2VP" is prescribed against cystitis, respiratory and gastrointestinal and urinary infections. Should be given with water.
Step 6
Antibiotics for dogs should be used strictly depending on a particular disease, and the dosage should be calculated correctly. Dogs are endowed with a weak liver, so the dosage of drugs must be carefully monitored. The dose depends primarily on the weight of the animal.
Step 7
As with human treatment, there are a number of principles for working with antibiotics. So, it is strictly forbidden to independently reduce the dose of the drug, as well as interrupt the course of treatment, which dog breeders often do, taking pity on their pet. Remember that improvement does not mean recovery, and an interrupted course can cause the virus to mutate and develop negative resistance, in other words, the drug that helped your dog last time will not save the next time.

In addition, antibiotics can be given for no more than 10 days, as their abuse will lead to dangerous consequences for the dog. After completing the course of antibiotics, it is recommended to drink your pet with medicines to improve the condition of the liver, as well as fortifying vitamins.
